Hello, everyone... The MYS Board of Directors is excited to announce...

End of Fall... but the Start of Something New!

Hello, everyone... Thank you all so very much for a very successful Fall season of Marlboro Youth Soccer! I'm particularly grateful for our amazing team of volunteer coaches and Board members, whose hard work and dedication created a safe and supportive environment for our kids to learn the game of soccer. I'd also like to thank our many student and adult referees, without whom games would not be possible. If you've ever considered volunteering with MYS, now would be a great time. Our Board is always looking for ways to make strategic improvements to our program and many hands are needed.

One such improvement is a brand new season for MYS... Winter!!!  Our City is blessed to have a premier indoor soccer facility in ForeKicks, and we've entered several teams in their first winter session for players in Grades 3 and 4. Those teams will play their second indoor game of the schedule today, with great support from our Director of Coaching & Development, Dan Ryan. Stay tuned for more info on registration, as we'll be looking to expand our winter program to more players and more age groups for Session 2... which starts at the end of January and runs right into our Spring season.

And speaking of Spring... Don't forget that registration is currently open at www.marlboroyouthsoccer.org/registration. Please don't delay! Early registration will ensure your child's spot in our program, and help our Division Directors build rosters for BAYS teams. Financial assistance is once again available from the Every Kid Sports Pass. This wonderful program provides grants to eligible families that cover our registration fees. Please find more information at https://everykidsports.org/every-kid-sports-pass/.

Thanks again for supporting your child's soccer journey... I wish all of you the best this Holiday season, and look forward to seeing many new and returning faces this Winter and Spring!

Cheers,

Join our Board of Directors!

Hello, Friends!... The MYS Board of Directors will hold our November monthly meeting tonight at ForeKicks from 7-8pm. Anyone interested in joining our small and dedicated group of volunteers is welcome to join us! There's a lot that goes on "behind the scenes" with each soccer season, and having a diverse Board with shared responsibilities is critical to the sustainability of our organization... To put it simply, new Board members are needed to keep our programs running strong!

For the upcoming Spring 2023 season, we have immediate openings for the following positions:

  • Secretary - Our Secretary helps the President develop an agenda for montly Board meetings and keeps accurate minutes of all discussion and action items. The Secretary also helps the Board submit annual non-profit forms/reports to several State agencies. This is an Officer-level position.
  • Equipment Manager (2 positions) - Our In-Town Equipment Manager works with our KG and Grade 1&2 Division Directors and vendors to order t-shirts, pinnies, and other equipment for our youngest age groups. Our BAYS Equipment Manager maintains an inventory of all travel team uniforms, orders shirts/shorts/socks as needed, and works directly with our BAYS team coaches at the beginning of each season to ensure that there are no duplicate numbers assigned to travel team rosters.
  • Field Coordinator - The Field Coordinator is our liaison with the City's Recreation Department, and works to secure seasonal field permits for our programs. At the beginning of each season, the Field Coordinator fulfills requests from each BAYS/travel coach for weekly practice times/locations, and assists the Referee Director in rescheduling games as needed throughout the season.
  • Sponsorship Coordinator - Our Sponsorship Coordinator develops partnerships with local area businesses and organizations... with a goal of raising funds to keep costs affordable for our members, mitigate inflation and rising uniform/equipment prices, and to support our financial assistance programs.

As you'll see from the descriptions, these positions require very little to no socer knowledge at all... just a willingness to help out our organization and give back to your community! The time commitment is minimal (only one meeting/month), and the bulk of the work takes place at the beginning of each season. If you are interested in one of the positions listed above, or in learning about other ways you can help move MYS forward, please don't hesitate to contact me at .

Cheers,

Spring 2023 Registration is now OPEN!

Hello, everyone... The MYS Board of Directors is excited to announce that registration for our Spring 2023 programs is now open!

Our Spring program will look very similar to the Fall, with a few important changes:
- Any child who can enter Kindergarten in the Fall of 2023 (born on or before 8/31/18) is now eligible for our Kindergarten program!
- We'll introduce 7v7 play (with goalies!) for our Grade 2 players... so that they're ready to play in our BAYS travel program as 3rd graders next Fall!

Please register early to ensure that your child has a spot on a roster... We simply can't stress this point enough. BAYS requires all Town youth soccer leagues to submit their list of teams for the Spring season by February 1st, so we're asking everyone to register before January 15th. We'd hate to turn anyone away because our teams are full.

Please also consider volunteering as a coach or assistant when registering your child. As most of you know, our organization is run almost entirely by volunteers. Coaching youth soccer is FUN! You'll help provide a safe and supportive environment for kids in our City to learn the game of soccer, and you just might make a few friends along the way!

Registration is available at www.marlboroyouthsoccer.org/registration   Don't wait --- Register today!
